Day 4 -- Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Sunday 7/1/2001

We slept long, which was nice. We got up and prepared an outside Sunday breakfast, with pancakes, bacon and coffee. Very nice. It was already getting warm. I called Vincent again to see how things were going. He was already down by Fayetteville, North Carolina. We guessed he would be here by 1:30pm given his progress. We stayed down at the beach and putzed around the trailer a bit. We could see dark clouds building inland although no rain in sight.

By around 1 o'clock Vincent pulled up at our camp site in his new car. Good timing. We pulled out a few beers. Vincent had a big smile on his face. Finally down here! He did not sit at our outside for more than 15 minutes until the rain started. Dark clouds rolled in and we hear thunder. But it soon cleared again. I went over to Vincent's new campground and helped him get setup while Paule and Pascal stayed back at the trailer, playing with our kids. Vincent's RV is still stranded in New York. Andree is helping him to look for a replacement wiring harness. There is still hope that it can be repaired by the time Vincent pulls out of here in a bit over a week.

Lilly went down to the store to get some dinner material, including beer. When she got back she did have the food but no beer; they do not sell any alcohol on Sundays in Myrtle Beach. We'd have to make do with what we have ;-) We prepared hamburgers on the grill and ate some chips with it. Yum. Just another wonderful evening here at Myrtle Beach.
