Day 6: Wednesday 30-jun-1999
At WBCCI International
Wright Patterson Air Force Base
Dayton, Ohio
Today we had a slow start. Now Erik is sick too. After breakfast, guess what? Lillemor had to go to the laundry place for the second time this week. Isabella came along. Per stayed back at the trailer with the boys. Erik and Karl went off to play with other kids around our trailer. Per used the time to clean up a little bit and to work some on the web pages. Lillemor got back later than expected. It had not worked as expected: Isabella had managed to get lost for over 30 minutes in the supermarket and did not listen to the loudspeakers calling her name. By the time Lillemor got back Per rushed in a quick lunch and then headed out.
Per had a meeting with Ed Elmer, Wayne Rutty, Dick Bartram, Wilson Yerk and a few others to talk about the wbcci.org web site. This was a follow up to the meeting they had a few days ago. Per got official blessing to go-ahead with the site. He also got space for a column in the Blue Beret each month, that he can use to write about the web site and how people can help out. After that meeting Per got over to the Airstream company tent, where he got a second chance to talk to Larry Huttle about going after a younger market with their products. He also got a chance to look at the brand spanking new 34ft Limited slideout. Here are some pictures he captured of it.
In the afternoon we got our Fantastic fan installed in the front of the trailer. They found signs of humidity up there in the inner ceiling during their work, which somehow confirms what Per had been thinking. The new fan works great. Like the other one we have in the back of the trailer, this one came with rain sensor and thermostat. Now we can set one to draw air into the trailer and the other to blow out, thereby creating a nice breeze inside.

Once again we have had dinner around the trailer with the other neighbors. While the adults were eating and chatting, the kids were playing around. Isabella then managed to get her finger stuck in the door of a van and came back bleeding. Turned out to be no serious damage, but she was very upset and the finger was bleeding. After calming down in front of the TV, she later decided to sleep in the tent, outside the trailer.
A bit later we got a lesson in adjusting the flame on the water heater and how to clean it. We then continued on to look at the gas portion of the refrigerator. Very educational.
