Day 3: Sunday 27-jun-1999

At WBCCI International

Wright Patterson Air Force Base

Dayton, Ohio

Isabella got sick overnight and threw up a few times. She is now the second person to get the influenza. We had a slow start after this. The weather had turned cloudy and we started seeing rain clouds. We drove over to a nearby Wallmart for some shopping. We also stopped at a local food store.

After lunch in the trailer, we went up to the Nutter Center (of Write State University) to have our first timer's pictures taken and to register for youth activities. We didn't have time to take the picture because Per shortly thereafter had a meeting with Ed Elmer and some of his staff members regarding the wbcci.org web site. Ed Elmer is the 1st vice president of WBCCI and will shortly be our new club president. The meeting went well and we decided to meet again on Tuesday. Per started feeling really bad, as they walked out of the meeting. While Per was talking to Ed and the others, the rest of the family registered for the youth activities for the week. It was difficult to decide what to sign up for since we also had to make sure it did not collide with our activities. We walked around in the center and looked at what the vendors had to sell. Lillemor did not feel well now; her stomach was not good. The Nutter Center (of Wright State University) is very cold inside (compared to the outside it is about 20F difference) so Lillemor and the kids waited for Per outside . It was hot and sunny outside.

We went back to the trailer. Per went to bed. Lillemor and the kids hung around outside and talked to our neighbors. She was also feeling bad. Shortly thereafter Per threw up too, making him the third person. He slept for a long while after that. We took it easy in the afternoon and turned down offers to go out for dinner. We were all feeling a bit shitty. We went to bed early.
