We slept well. Naveed had put earplugs in as to not hear all the chirping noises from geckos and frogs. I got up with Lilly around 7 to be sure I could get fresh bread from the guy that drives by in the morning. We ate a shared breakfast up at Susan, Naveed and Barry's bungalow. Very nice. We had all sorts of things including yogurt, cereal, coffee, sandwiches, etc.
This morning we decided to take a hike down Saut de la Lezarde which is just around the corner from Domaine de la Glaciere. That hike is very nice. The trail was not too muddy this year. As my dad had a bit of a problem with his knee we were all a bit anxious to learn if he would be able to make that trail. The kids rushed ahead. The view of the waterfall from above, as you get close, is impressive. There were about 50 people down there already and about 10 were in the water by the waterfall. I saw Isabella swimming in the runoff water with her mask on, looking for anything interesting.

I did not feel like taking a dip; the water was too cold for my taste. Erik showed off his skills to jump off a small cliff near the waterfall into the pool of water. Isabella and Morgane were looking for creeps under rocks and in the mossy areas near the base. They found at least one of those green lizards we saw last year. We hung around down there for about one hour and then started heading back up. Before we hit the trail the kids wanted to try swinging in a vine from a tree. The amazing part was that the vine did not break. Even Naveed tried a double vine!

The hike up was not particularly hard. The kids wanted to climb up in their own pace. Naveed kept track of a few of them and headed back to the bungalows as soon as he came up. We did the same thing when we reached the head of the trail. The weather was very nice. The kids hit the pool while the adults took it easy.
Taking it easy back home in the pool
After some homework we took a few of the kids with us up to the Maison de la Foret which has a number of trails into the forest. We stopped to buy some vegetables and fruits where the Traverse (D23) goes over by Vernou.

When we finally got over to the trails it was around 5 o'clock so it had already started to get a bit darker. We decided to take the shorter one of the trails. On the actual trails it was even darker.

The girls played by the river. We could see fish in it.
Leaf carrying ant on the trail. A shame our kids do not
tackle their homework with the same energy!
We ate communal dinner at Thierry and Brigitte's bungalow. It was very nice. It feels good to have a lazy day like this. We did not stay up very late.
